Laos is one of China's important banana suppliers. On November 24, the China-Laos Railway (Vientiane-Kunming-Beijing Pinggu) international cold chain special train, also known as the "Beijing-Yunnan-Vientiane" line, departed from Vientiane, Laos, carrying nearly 450 tons of Lao bananas to Pinggu, Beijing. This marks the beginning of regular operations for this new service.

Earlier, the first batch of 390 tons of fresh bananas from Laos arrived on October 20 via the inaugural "Beijing-Yunnan-Vientiane" international cold chain special train, successfully reaching the Jingping Comprehensive Logistics Hub in Pinggu District, Beijing, and entering the consumer market in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. In the future, more fresh fruits from ASEAN countries will be transported on China-Laos Railway international cold chain special trains, delivering directly to consumers' tables in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
