The New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor Rail-Sea Intermodal Transport Breaks 800,000 TEU Mark

     Since the beginning of the fourth quarter, the demand for cargo transportation along the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor has continued to rise, with shipments steadily increasing. As of November 20, 2024, the rail-sea intermodal trains on the corridor have transported more than 800,000 TEUs, reaching 805,400 TEUs, marking a 5.3% YoY growth. This has significantly supported the stability of the regional industrial and supply chains, contributing to the high-quality economic and social development of Western China and its integration into the new development paradigm.

  This year, the demand for foreign trade goods on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor has surged, with increasing transport demand for Australian spodumene, Southeast Asian rubber and others. Specialty products including Gansu onions and Guangxi auto parts have accelerated exports. CR-Nanning has further enhanced package logistics services, offering customized loading, transportation, handling, information services and container return solutions, attracting more international cargo such as Brazilian soybeans and Indonesian coal. In the fourth quarter, rail-sea intermodal trains on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor successfully delivered 100,000 TEUs in just 27 days, 13 days faster than the previous shipment of the same volume. The daily cargo transport has risen to an average of 3,205 TEUs, an increase of 862 TEUs, or a 36.8% increase, compared to the first three quarters of the year.
