This year, the railway sector has seized the opportunities presented by the growing demand for cold chain transportation, continuously innovating and exploring cold chain logistics equipment and operational strategies. The sector has also actively organized international logistics for the China-Laos Railway and the China-Vietnam Railway, resulting in a significant increase in rail cold chain transport volume. In the first 10 months of this year, the railways have shipped 2.2 million tons of cold chain goods, a 23% YoY increase, setting a new historical record.

Rail cold chain transport offers several advantages, including large volumes, excellent temperature control performance, long transport distances and economic efficiency. It not only greatly reduces overall logistics costs but also stimulates new momentum for cross-border railway transport. In recent years, the railway sector has deeply implemented the "Belt and Road" Initiative's eight actions for high-quality joint construction, actively promoting regular cross-border cold chain transport on the China-Laos-Thailand Railway. This has effectively facilitated the deep integration of regional industrial, supply and value chains, providing transport support for the development of outward-oriented economies in China's inland cities. As of October 31, 223,000 tons of cold chain goods have been shipped via the China-Laos Railway this year.
