The Liugou Railway Freight Yard, located in Guazhou, Gansu Province, known as the "World's Wind Depot", endures winds exceeding force seven for a third of the year. It serves as the first station for coal transportation from Xinjiang to Gansu by rail and is the largest coal loading point managed by CR-Lanzhou. Equipped with two loading and unloading tracks and three dedicated railway lines, the yard handles tens of thousands of tons of thermal coal annually, supplying power plants and industrial enterprises both within and beyond Gansu Province.
As of November 7 this year, the Liugou Railway Logistics Office completed loading of 153,000 wagons, a YoY increase of 38,800. Coal shipments reached 10.2094 million tons, achieving 97.23% of the annual target, a YoY growth of 2.5727 million tons.
"We remain steadfast in the 'World's Wind Depot,' growing resiliently like the desert's branchy tamarisks. We will not waste our youth nor fail our mission, contributing our youthful energy to achieving the freight transport goals," said Hu Xiaohui, a freight operations dispatcher at the Lanzhou Railway Logistics Center's Liugou Freight Office.
