Continuously Infusing the China-Thailand Relationship with New Era Meaning: People's Daily

       China and Thailand are good neighbors, relatives and partners. In November 2022, President Xi Jinping made a state visit to Thailand, during which both sides reached a significant consensus on building a more stable, prosperous and sustainable China-Thailand community of shared future, marking the beginning of a new era in bilateral relations. Under the strategic guidance of the leaders and the joint efforts of various sectors in both countries, the construction of the China-Thailand community of shared future has made solid progress and yielded fruitful results.

　　The construction of the North-South Corridor offers new opportunities for connectivity. The China-Laos Railway has already connected with Thailand's existing meter-gauge railway, and China's Xishuangbanna Guanlei Port's designated supervision site for imported fruit has officially been put into operation, opening a new channel for agricultural imports from ASEAN countries. China and Thailand are accelerating the construction of the first phase of the China-Thailand High Speed Railway and are striving to start the second phase soon. China, Laos and Thailand are also discussing the construction of a new connection line, which will create a major North-South transportation artery across the Indochinese Peninsula, bringing new prospects for connectivity, development and shared prosperity between China, Laos and Thailand.
